There are plenty of Memorial Day events planned throughout Southwest Florida on Monday. Here's a list of what's going on in our area:

9 a.m.: Memorial Day Service
Riverside Park
10450 Reynolds Street, Bonita Springs
The service includes remarks from veterans and officials, a flyover, musical tributes, Posting of the Colors, 21-gun salute, and other traditional commemorations.

10 a.m.: Memorial Day Remembrance Service
Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery
1630 SW Pine Island Rd, Cape Coral
There will be a number of Veteran Groups represented and there will also have a ceremonial "Fly Over" by a UH-1 "Huey" Helicopter.

10 a.m.: Memorial Day Ceremony
American Legion Post 323 and VFW Post 4174
Lee Memorial Gardens
12777 S.R. 82, Fort Myers

11 a.m.: Memorial Day Celebration
American Legion Post #192
3130 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Fort Myers
The Keynote speaker will be Officer Bryan Fuller, Dunbar Community Policing Coordinator, Fort Myers Police Department.

1 p.m: Memorial Day Ceremony
The Iraq War Monument
Four Mile Cove Eco Park, SE 24th St., Cape Coral
The ceremony will include the posting of the colors, the National Anthem sung by 13 year old A'Layahna Checo, and as well as guest speakers including Cape Coral Mayor Marni Sawicki and Veterans from America's wars.
There will be special recognition of the families currently serving over and seas, Blue Star Families, and of those families who lost love ones who were killed in action, Gold Star Families.

9:45am: Ceremony followed by a free picnic

11 a.m.: Memorial Day Ceremony
CENTER STAGE AT Fishermen's Village
1200 W Retta Esplanade  Punta Gorda
Music begins at 11:00 am, ceremony begins at Noon.
