LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The Lee County Sheriff's Officeand Cape Coral Police Department joined forces for Operation High Octane, with the goal of inspecting gas station pumps and intercepting illegal skimming devices.

Thieves use the devices to steal unsuspecting victim's credit card information, which they then use to make illegal purchases.

Law enforcement inspected 32 stations and found three skimming devices. Investigation of the confiscated devices is ongoing.

While conducting the inspections, a suspicious individual was observed attempting to use multiple credit cards inside a store. Detectives spoke to the man, who was reportedly was found to be in possession of over 30 credit cards. Many of them were cloned cards, contained information that is consistent with personal banking data belonging to victims. A credit card re-encoder device was located inside the suspect’s car. A female passenger was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant. Curtis Dover, 30, was subsequently arrested for the possession of the cards.
