Collier County, Fla., - There are plans to build a brand new RaceTrac gas station in Collier County, but a group of angry homeowners say - not in my back yard.  The land is about a mile from 5th Ave. S on U.S.41 between Frederick and Palm Streets.

On Wednesday, about 90 neighbors packed into a meeting with representatives from RaceTrac.  Neighbors say the 24-7 facility would bring crime, noise and light pollution and would ruin their home values.

"This is really the gateway to downtown Naples," said Vern Hammett.  "Is this really what we want as a community?"

Neighbors have already collected 450 signatures for an online petition against the station.  They also raised $8 thousand to hire an attorney who won a similar battle against the company in Cocoa Beach.

The representative from RaceTrac says company leaders are excited to be building in Naples and look forward to future discussions with homeowners.
