LEHIHGH ACRES, Fla. - Lee County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a trio of crooks broke into a home in the 4700 block of 28th St. SW in Lehigh Acres.

Deputies say a woman was inside with her grandson when masked men shattered the glass sliding door on the back of the duplex.

"She's pretty shaken up," landlord Pedro Fernandez told WINK News.  Fernandez said the woman had been renting from him for several months, and never had any trouble.

"She told me that a couple of people came in the morning with guns drawn and got her out of bed," Fernandez said.  "She's a little distraught right now."

Detectives tell WINK News the woman and her grandson were not seriously hurt,  but there was a confrontation with the burglars.  It's believed they got away with electronics.

Neighbors were stunned by the crooks' brazen attack.

"If anybody decides to just walk into my house, they're getting shot," neighbor Makayla Beuerlein told WINK.

Deputies are now searching for the suspects.  Count on WINK News to keep you updated on the case.
