NORTH NAPLES, Fla.- Everyone is safe after a morning fire at a daycare at 3550 10 St. N.  The fire started in the attic of the building and sent neighbors scrambling to help.

"I saw them out here and I thought oh my gosh they need help because there were so many of them," said neighbor Kathleen Slavin.

13 children were in the house when the fire started in the attic.  Daycare owner Liri Basha smelled the smoke.

"I just told my parents quick get the kids out as fast as we can just in case, so we grabbed everybody," said Basha.

Corporals James Cunningham and Eric Kincaid with the Collier County Sheriff's Office were first on scene and ran inside to help everyone get out.

"Its unusual to see a bunch of deputies carrying kids but we but obviously we were here to make sure the kids were safe," said Corporal Cunningham.

North Naples firefighters with assistance from Naples fire department got the fire under control.  But, there was so much damage the house might be condemned.

Wink News found out firefighters had recently inspected the home.  They said everything was up to code and the fire alarms were working.?

Basha called parents at work to pick up their children. All were so thankful everyone was okay.  

"Its nervewracking," said parent Amy Wilkinson.  "But, I know she's in great hands here."
