LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Three people sustained injuries after a school bus crash on Plantation Rd. at Six Mile Cypress Pkwy. just before 2:00 p.m. today.

There were 38 high school students on the school bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, and one of the students claimed to be injured.

The school bus was traveling south on Plantation Rd. in the right turn lane, approaching Six Mile Cypress Pkwy. David Gross was stopped in a Toyota Yaris on Plantation Rd. in the right turn lane facing south, waiting to make a right turn onto Six Mile Cypress Pkwy.

The driver of the bus, Michael Gianetti, failed to stop in time. As a result, the bus struck the Yaris' rear end. 

Gross and his passenger, David Pope, sustained minor injuries.

The bus driver was not injured and was cited for careless driving.
