FORT MYERS, Fla. - If you've had your groceries bagged at the Publix at Colonial and Summerlin in Fort Myers during the past 20 years, chances are you've met Grace Carey. She turned 98 today and is still working as hard as ever.

Every once in a while, sometimes during a routine activity like shopping, you run into someone like Grace Carey. Grace moves nimbly and lifts heavy bags with ease, be they paper or plastic. But why, at 98, is she still doing this?

"I don't want to sit home, and I wouldn't do anything if I sat home. And I love to be here and see people and I love to work," answered Grace.

Grace works about 12 hours a week with gusto and a smile.

When asked what her secret is she said, "Trust in the Lord and take no prescription drugs."

Another question she was asked: What about retirement?

"I don't have any intention of retiring, if they'll let me stay," she replied.

They had a party for her in the Publix break room. She requested the corner pice of cake and entertained a steady stream of well-wishers throughout her shift, especially when 3-year-old Liam and his little sister Kinsley showed up with flowers.

So, if you ever find yourself wondering why are we here? What is the point of life? Well, maybe you're looking at it.

"It feels great! It feels like people love me as much as I love them," Grace told us.
