DESOTO COUNTY, Fla.- Desoto County Sheriff's Deputies are still searching for a gunman who killed one teen and injured another in a drive-by shooting.

The shooting happened Friday near the intersection of Martin Luther King Street and Spring Avenue in Arcadia.

Larry Graham says he was sleeping when he heard commotion on the other side of the wall.

"I got up. I heard the 'boom, boom, boom.' I run out the door," Graham said. "Then I guess the guy that was driving the little blue car got out of control and (went) through the fence.

"All of a sudden...all the commotion...all the people come running around, and then they taped it off, so I went and saw it in the back yard."

"I knew they were losing that young guy. He was lying down in the back yard."

Graham was describing Melvin Hearns, 15, on the ground, during the final moments of his life.

DeAndre Williams, 19, was in the car with Hearnds.  Williams was shot in the leg and is recovering.

A third passenger in the car ran away.  Deputies say they caught up with that person later.

Graham said he never told detectives what he saw because he never had the chance.

"The officer told me to go in the house and keep quiet," Graham said.  "The officers never did question me, or anything."

Hearns' mother declined comment.

Investigators are looking for a black or dark blue Chevy Impala, which they believe was the vehicle used in the drive-by shooting.
