COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A father who's been serving our country overseas is now back home, and after months of planning, he was able to surprise his daughter at school.

Emotions and nerves were running high as Johnny Padron was about to surprise his daughter at Vineyard Elementary School.

"I'm trying to keep myself together shaking...nervous, so it's going to be really nice," said Padron.

Meanwhile, his 7-year-old daughter, Melanie, and her classmates were engaged in story time.

Then, the teacher said, "I see something else, too... Look over here..."

"I was just wondering how long it was gonna take her to realize I was standing there," said Padron.

Padron is a military police officer, serving in the Middle East for the past year. He has been in the military for 10 years, and this is the first time the family was separated.

The family plans to take a trip to Disney this summer. They will be here for 30 days before they relocate to Guantanamo Bay.
