PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - The Defenders Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club is hosting its annual poker run for fallen officers.

The 8th annual Darla Lathrem Poker Run, named after the first Florida female corrections officer killed in the line of duty, raises money for the families of fallen officers.

The poker run takes place Saturday, May 24, rain or shine. It will start at the American Legion Post on Taylor Road in Punta Gorda. Registration is at 11 a.m. The first bike will leave at 11:30. The run will end at the American Legion at 3 p.m. with prizes. Registration on site is $10 per vehicle or bike, $5 per passenger.

A barbeque pulled pork dinner will be served 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets are $8. There will be music, a 50/50 drawing, raffles, door prizes and beverages available.
