FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an abduction involving a young teen. The victim has been located and was taken to the hospital.

Around 1:00 p.m., the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call about a child abduction in the Billie’s Creek area of Fort Myers. Deputies were dispatched to the scene and learned that the girl had been taken in a vehicle away from the area.

Deputies searched the immediate area for any vehicles matching the description of the vehicle that was used to abduct the girl. Due to the nature of the incident, Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., the girl was found by deputies in an apartment complex in the city of Fort Myers, which was about 4-5 miles from the abduction site. She was transported to the hospital by her parents.

Deputies initially detained 5 men but has since released them, saying they've been cleared of any involvement. Detectives will be searching the apartment and vehicle pending a search warrant. The investigation is ongoing.
