LEHIGH ACRES, FL. -  Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help identifying an unknown suspect who held up the Dollar General in Lehigh Acres two weeks ago.
According to detectives, a tall, thin black male, donning a ski mask, entered the Gretchen Avenue store shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 4. He immediately approached the cashier, pointed a large black gun at her, and demanded cash.  In fear for her life, the cashier complied, at which point the suspect quickly left the store on foot.  The suspect is described at 6'0" with dreds, carrying a red bag.  "Criminals talk, and that's what we're hoping might lead to closure in this case," said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers Coordinator.  "With the rash of recent violent incidents, the last thing we need is another gun toting felon getting away with these types of crimes."
Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the Dollar General robber is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).  All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.  Tips may also be made online at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) or by texting information to CRIMES (274637) Keyword: REWARD.
