CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. --Hurricane season is right around the corner and WINK News is reminding you, it's never too early to get ready.
Saturday, WINK News held its annual hurricane seminar in Charlotte County. This year marks the 10 year anniversary Hurricane Charley roared through southwest Florida and slammed into the Charlotte Harbor, that fateful Friday the 13th in August.
It's a day WINK News chief meteorologist Jim Farrell will never forget
"We went on tv and tried to emphasize firmly that this was going to be a southwest Florida problem," he said. "It had wind of 150 to 170 miles per hour-plus in gusts, and many home were completely destroyed."
Its that very reason WINK News once again held its annual Hurricane Seminar.
