FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.-  WINK News will be there as a man facing murder charges makes his first appearance in court for his involvement in the death of two people on board a boat just off Fort Myers Beach.

Michael Spiegel, 70, is facing two counts of first degree murder and one count of arson. Overnight, Lee County crime scene detectives and investigators wrapped up their investigation at Salty Sam's Marina, near the Matanzas Pass Bridge.

WINK News spoke with the ex-wife of one of the victims. Freddi Carlip confirms her ex-husband, Harry Carlip, was found dead on his boat. She describes Harry as a great father, grandfather and everyone who met him, loved him. She said the news of his death has been shocking. She lives in PA.

WINK News also learning the couple found dead on this boat was planning on getting married this weekend. A boater saying the deceased woman's husband came down to scope out the marina last night and this morning shot the couple who lived on their boat.

Deputies found the two bodies on the "Bella-Mar." WINK News is hearing from Freddi Carlip, Harry loved the water, loved the ocean and dreamed of living on a boat.

"I'm just thinking 'Wow! I'm lucky I wasn't here and saw the or guy or tried to stop it, which I would have tried to stop it and I could have been killed also."

A crime scene erupts after witnesses say they heard gun shots behind Salty Sam's Marina.

"One of the detectives popped his truck, got out a bullet proof vest and an assault rifle. I knew something was up," said witness Dennis Minor.

Deputies say two people were found dead on the boat and now they are working to piece together what led to a call that came in as a disturbance and then turned violent.

"They said the guy that had shot them was all full of blood, he was bloody, and law enforcement saw him and arrested him right away," said Don Meister.

WINK News was on the water when a dive team went into the back bay searching for any clues. At this point, deputies wont say what may have happened here.

"Somebody got shot. I observed one guy getting hauled out to the ambulance on the stretcher and an officer carrying a pump shot gun out of the scene."

WINK News is hearing the three may have known each other quite well.

"Ex-wife and her boyfriend on the boat, killed them on the boat," said Meister.

But now a quiet Thursday has turned chaotic.

Detectives say they expect to be out here until Friday morning.
