FORT MYERS, Fla.- Sampson, a 2-year-old Terrier mix, is being treated at the Gulf Coast Humane Society for severe chemical burns, after a concerned citizen found him and rushed him in for treatment.

Sampson's injuries are being investigated by Lee County Domestic Animal Services.

The dog was found off of New York Avenue in Fort Myers on May 7th. GCHS Veterinarian and Clinic Staff believe his injuries are the result of a strong chemical burn, on top of existing injuries. Sampson will need at least another week of recovery before his burns will begin to scar.
