COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A former Army soldier charged with murder, claims he stabbed another man dozens of times, in self defense. John Orr of Naples is accused of killing 63-year-old Jon Wayne Joseph in 2011, but police say his story doesn't add up.

An attorney for the State says they are taking a look at a pool of about 60 jurors today. This jury selection is getting underway nearly three years after the alleged crime. October 2011 is when police say Orr started a fight with his neighbor, Joseph, on 12th Avenue North.

In a post-miranda interview, Orr said he was "rammed" by Joseph on a bicycle. He said he was thrown to the ground, and head-butted and felt he had no choice but to reach for his pocket knife and fight for his life. Police say Orr stabbed Joseph multiple times, and they say Joseph was not armed. Police also say Orr didn't have any bruises or injuries consisent with his story.

Court records show in 2012, Orr went through a stand your ground pre-trial immunity hearing, and a court found that law did not apply in this case.

Orr is charged with Second Degree Murder.
