FORT MYERS, Fla - Right now one man is in the hospital after seriously injuring himself along Fort Myers Beach. Witnesses say he jumped out of his boat into shallow waters. "I just heard them calling, call 911. That's when I immeditaly ran to the ocean to help pull him out of the ocean," says Lisa Saso, a witness.

A day at the beach gone horribly wrong for one man. Witnesses say they saw him leap off a pontoon boat and seriously injure himself. That's when complete strangers starting to run toward the scene.

"We immedietaly ran up to the water, dragged the guy out, he was unconcious, wasn't breathing" says Shane Smith.

Lisa Saso a registered nurse, says if one person did not perform c-p-r on the injured man he may not have survived. "He was already blue when he came out of the ocean. She did a great job, and she didn't stop which is what you're supposed to to do. You're not supposed to stop."

Gail Hattle, a vacationer from Michigan says, "you go into an ocean you're assuming its gonna go out a little bit way and it would drop down.

A local says, "Especially today, we walked out and I was below the knee, quite a ways and I said when are we going to start getting wet?"

Witnesses say the man regained consciousness and was taken to the hospital. It was a sight left people on the beach at little shaken up.

"My family and I just pray for a recovery for him . I hope he does. Because it was a very sad thing that happened today," asys Saso.
