NAPLES, Fla - Investigators in Collier County say a weekend car crash into the Publix grocery store on Vanderbilt Beach Road may have been intentional.

The driver, 22-year-old Michael Long, was taken to an area hospital for injuries, then arrested.  He was later released on bond, and is facing charges related to the more than $10,000 in damage to the store.

According to a Sheriff's Office report, deputies learned Long had recently broken up with his fiance, who worked at the Vanderbilt Beach Road location.  Long worked at another Publix in the area.

Publix would not comment on Long's current employment status.  However, a spokesperson said the company is concerned for his well-being.

Nobody was seriously injured in the crash.
