COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Jill Wheeler is turning a dream into a reality.

"This has been a project in the making."

The project is the Wellfit Girls Challenge.

"To empower, inspire girls, teenage girls into leaders," said Wheeler.

Like 18 year old Maria Guerrero. "I decided to join this group because I wanted to challenge myself physically and mentally."

And they'll be setting their feet to it in less than a month. Guerrero and 10 other girls will travel to Peru where they'll hike ancient Indian sites like Maccu Picu, explore the region, and take part in service projects. A big part of their challenge has been physical.

"Getting their overall fitness up where this journey they're going to take is still going to be a challenge but they can make it through," said Andrew Miranti.

It'll also be an emotional challenge. For some, it's their first time on an airplane. But in order to make the trip, they still need help from the community.

"We need warm clothes, still finances to get the girls there," said Wheeler.

And even before they leave, the girls can already see a change within themselves.

"Empowering because we're all working together and everything."

"I want to be able to do show I can do whatever I want to do if I set my mind to it."
