CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Decades after someone brutally murdered her little girl, a Cape Coral mother refuses to give up hope that the killer will be brought to justice.

Saturday marks 24 years since someone killed 11 year old Robin Cornell and her babysitter Lisa Story.

Police say this is not a cold case, just an old case. They tell WINK News, even though it has been decades it's still an active investigation.

Today, Robin Cornell would be almost 35 years old. Not a day goes by that Jan Cornell doesn't think about her daughter, or the horrific double murder.

"This is my heart and I want justice. I want the person that hurt them to be caught and punished for what they did," said Cornell.

May 10th 1990, Cornell found Robin and 32 year old Lisa Story dead in their Cape Coral house on Southeast 12th Ave. Both were sexually assaulted and suffocated.

Evidence collected from the scene centers around a set of keys and DNA.
But just who's DNA it is remains a baffling mystery.

In hopes of generating tips, the case has been featured on america's most wanted. Cornell hopes by speaking to WINK News, someone, somewhere, will come forward with information.

Her murder didn't become who I am, but it is a part of who I am. And even if I only, every year, do this, it's one day a year that anybody that's in the range of this broadcast. They get to know just a little bit about Robin Cornell and Lisa Story. That they were here. And that they were really people. They were two people that so many people loved. and still do.," said Cornell.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cape Coral Police Dept. Or, call Crime Stoppers.
