CAPTIVA ISLAND, Fla.- A 16-foot vessel hit a channel marker and ejected two people, near Jensen Marina, this afternoon.

One person was seriously hurt. According to the Captiva Fire Department, the person who was transported was banged up, but conscious by the time they got to him for treatment.

It appears the two people onboard the boat were checking their fishing poles, when they crashed into that channel marker.

FWC said the boat was towed into Bayside Marina, which is on the property of South Seas Resort.

FWC is investigating.
