LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A road project that was expected to cause a few headaches along McGregor Boulevard this morning was actually free and clear.

Today, crews were supposed to begin work on a drainage project near Passaic Avenue, near the Fort Myers Country Club. Signs are posted, but WINK News didn't see any workers.

Though construction will be starting at that location, the reason for there aren't any traffic delays is that the digging and main work has not begun. Instead, crews are setting up some traffic signs and materials. This project will actually happen in seven phases and work will go last the way up until the fall. Work is scheduled to go until May 13th next week, but then workers will move onto another location or another phase. This work is to not only improve drainage along McGregor, but the ride on the road as well.

Though drivers didn't see any delays today, doesn't mean they are in the clear. Expect to see those delays tomorrow instead.
