CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance in identifying a man who may have been involved in two separate thefts at local Walmart stores.

On April 29, a man left the Walmart, located on McCall Road, without paying for more than $500 in merchandise that he had in a shopping cart. Walmart personnel saw the man leave the store and get into what was described as a green Honda SUV with a black spare tire on the rear gate. The word “Honda” had been painted over with the same flat ‘bush’ green paint as the vehicle body. The tag on the vehicle was issued out of Alabama. The man was described as being in his 20’s, thin build with short brown hair and a beard.

A few days later on May 1, a similar-looking man went to the Walmart in Murdock and took almost $500 worth of merchandise without paying. This time, the man left in a green Ford minivan.

Anyone with information on the identity of this man or the vehicle is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101, or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
