FORT MYERS, Fla.,- WINK News spoke to neighbors who have watched the barricade situation unfold for hours. A lot of curious people have been crowded around the police tape waiting to find exactly what is happening on at the home.

They are telling WINK News, they either chose to evacuate and some came home to find this entire area taped off. Now, multiple agencies have been on scene to help negotiate this man out of the house, peacefully.

Since we have been out here we are talking police, the swat team, critical response team, fire, EMS, the port authority and even the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

One of the biggest concerns out here is the weapons this barricaded man is believed to have inside the home. We spoke to a woman close to the person law enforcement is trying to negotiate out of the house, and she says she doesn't put anything past him. In fact, she tells WINK News, he does have a lot of weapons and ammo inside. Police tell us the intel they have received does confirm that.

Neighbors who left their homes say they felt it was best to leave the area after seeing the law enforcement presence surrounding their neighborhood. But, tonight neighbors are giving a lot of credit to police for how they are handling the situation. But, everyone wants to see this man surrender peacefully.
