COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- The remains of a 7-year-old radio-collared male Florida panther were recovered today on County Line Road, 2.8 miles south of CR846 on the Collier/Hendry county border.

The panther had been hit by a vehicle.

The carcass is currently being transported to the FWC Wildlife Research Lab in Gainesville for a complete necropsy.

This is the 13th panther mortality and 8th road mortality for 2014.
