LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -- The commotion of deputies searching a Lehigh Acres neighborhood for alleged home invaders has ended. The Lee County Sheriff's Office says they have take four people into custody.
Around 12:45 a.m. Thursday, a woman in her 40s woke up to the sounds of a group of people in her home. She dialed 911 and within minutes Lee County deputies swarmed the home in the 800 block of Clow Street East, with the alleged home invaders still inside and armed with guns.
Deputies say they fired their guns at them. It's not clear if any of the suspects were hit. After a search that lasted about four hours, deputies captured four people. At least one was taken down by a K9 unit.
The search is now over and deputies do not believe the public is in any danger, and school bus stops will not be affected later in the morning.
