COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Deputies rushed to Grey Oaks in Collier County Wednesday night. This gated community is right across the street from a previous home invasion. The Collier County Sheriff's Office said they raced to the area after suspicious people were spotted walking near the community.

WINK News was first on scene and has brand new pictures of the search happening right now. Investigators said an off-duty saw those suspicious people. A special home invasion task force rushed out including K9's and helicopters. That task force was created after five recent break-in's in Collier County and Naples.

WINK News was the first station to show you this surveillance video last week from one of those robberies. The crimes started in February. Crooks have hit homes in Golden Gate, Naples Bay, and two other gated communities. In most of the cases, the suspects had guns, they tied up their victims and got away with cash, jewelry, even cars. Deputies said they are taking every lead very seriously.

"We're acting on anything or any potential lead or possibility that it could be linked to the robberies," said Captain Tim Guerrette with the Collier County Sheriff's Office.

"I think it's good that theyre doing that. I live here, I don't want anything to happen," said Grey Oaks resident Maggie Quade.

"I just pay attention. I'm much more aware of surroundings, I check with my neighbors, like for example I asked you what was going on here today," said another resident," said another resident.
