FORT MYERS, Fla.- The push for votes lasted late into the night Monday. WINK News was at Doc's Beach House in Bonita Beach where Curt Clawson rallied with supporters. He has a sizeable lead in the race, according to a WINK News News Press Poll.

"We feel great. You can see we got a good crowd here, lots of enthusiasm. We're enjoying the moment and encouraging everyone to get out the vote and let's get going," said Curt Clawson.

WINK News spoke to all four candidates Monday night, as they make the final push ahead of election day. Both Paige Kreegel, who's last in our poll, and State Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto spent Monday making phone calls to voters.

"If I were in last place, I don't think Mr. Clawson and others would be spending so much time beating on our campaign," said Kreegel.

"It's hard not to feel energized and optimistic about the outcome and we're getting great response from our phone calls and our continued door to door and even here on the street you can hear the folks honking," said Benacquitso.

The fourth candidate, Michael Dreikorn, tells me after a full day of campaigning, he spent Monday night fulfilling his civic duty at a zoning meeting on Pine Island.

"It's awesome, it's great. The people are speaking out, they want change and I want to be their champion for change," said Dreikorn.
