CAPE CORAL, Fla. - The Cape Coral Fire Department is on the scene of a water main break on Viscaya Parkway. Tuesday around 8:00 p.m. water started flowing into the street. One lane of westbound Viscaya Parkway will be closed between SE 13th Ct and SE 11th Ave. for days because the road buckled there.

Utility crews fixed the break, but the road will need to be repaved.

"At this point, no fire protection has been compromised," said Cape Coral Fire Department Public Information Officer Michael Heeder. "Our firefighters are fully aware of the situation and fire hydrants are still operational, so we're not concerned about any public safety issues."

The City issued 27 precautionary boil water notices.
