FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that injured one person on Heiman Ave. early Sunday morning.

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and right shoulder.

The victim was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital around 2:00 a.m., where detectives met the passengers and driver of the vehicle that took the victim to the hospital. They described the suspect vehicle as a green Toyota Camry with a tan roof.

Deputies found bullet holes in a residence on the 1600 block of Heiman Ave. The residents were sleeping at the time and did not see who did it.

Two vehicles with front end damage were located on the 8800 block of Laredo Ave. There were five bullet holes in one of the vehicles and both had front air bags deployed. Blood was found in one of the vehicles and a trail led to a residence on the 1600 block of Heiman Ave., but not the same residence where the bullet holes had been found.

The owner of this residence said she heard gunshots and when she looked outside, she saw a man in her driveway, asking if he could borrow her vehicle to drive to the hospital. When she said no, he left.

Deputies searched the area with negative results.
