FORT MYERS, Fla. - South Trail firefighters and the Lee County Sheriff's Office are investigating a car that crashed into a home in the Pine Manor area of Fort Myers. It happened just around 3:15 a.m. Monday on Cypress Dr. and Fifth Ave.

Krystle Day, who lvies in the home, says she thinks she knows who ran into her home and believes it was intentional.

"I'm glad I wasn't home," Day said as she looked at the hole in her home. "It's crazy. Nothing at all. It ripped my bedroom, it ripped into my kids' bedroom."

Officials on the scene say the person driving the car backed into a home, and then fled the scene. There is a car across the street from the house that has damage to it's rear consitent with the damage done to the front of the house. Officials suspect it could be the car in question.

Day and her children were not at home at the time.

The property owner says he hopes to have the unit fixed up by tomorrow, but the county code inspectors have deemed it a dangerous building.

The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the case.
