FORT MYERS, Fla. - Mustang lovers across Southwest Florida will gather in Fort Myers this weekend to celebrate the car's 50th birthday.

GulfShore Mustang Club is holding the event at Sam Galloway Ford, located at 1800 Boy Scout Dr.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 12.

Mustang owners who want to participate in a mass cruise to the dealership can meet at one of two locations:

  • North Herd: Old Sweetbay parking lot at Colonial & Treeline Ave and depart by 10:30 a.m.
  • South Herd: Home Depot on Bonita Beach Rd., just west of I-75, and depart by 10:15 a.m.

Sam Galloway Ford will host a $5,000 drawing. There will also be bounce houses, door prizes, a "Super Mustang" to check out, and food from Famous Dave's and cake.
