ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (AP) - Two St. Johns County Sheriff's deputies fatally shot a man during a domestic disturbance call inside his St. Augustine home.

Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Kelshaw told the Florida Times-Union (http://bit.ly/1qi4KNw ) deputies shot the man Tuesday night when he reached under a bed where they believed weapons were stored.

Relatives initially called deputies following an incident between the man and a woman at the home. Deputies met with the woman, who told them she'd been abused by the man.

Kelshaw says three deputies had some kind of confrontation with the man. When he reached under the bed, two deputies shot him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputies have been placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation.

The names of the man or the deputies haven't been released.
