BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – The Promenade at Bonita Bay announces the grand reopening of the open-air retail center and will host a celebration on Saturday, April 12 from 2 to 8 p.m.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Bonita Springs Assistance Office, a primary social service agency providing emergency food, rent support and medical and health needs for local residents of Bonita Springs.

Located in the heart of Bonita Springs on U.S. 41 at 26795-26851 South Bay Dr., the Promenade at Bonita Bay’s Burgers & Bubbles event will feature food samples from 11 area restaurants along with a variety of craft beers, champagnes, sparkling wines and craft sodas.

Burgers & Bubbles is being hailed as Southwest Florida’s first burger competition, with local celebrity judges including Ben Nelson, Bonita Springs Mayor; Gina Birch, media personality and blogger (TheBirchBeat@blogspot.com); and Fran Peters, Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce Chair-elect and Cordon Bleu trained Chef Peter Sullivan from iTech in Immokalee. Trophies will be awarded for the best burger and best alternative burger in the competition.

The public is also invited to choose their favorite dish.

The event is family friendly with live music and entertainment from the Certified Band and Big Buck & the Biscuit Boys, children’s activities, and food and beverage seminars.
