FORT MYERS, Fla.- 45-year-old Alana Grant was arrested after a serious case of road rage.

"Just screaming at the top of her lungs just in a complete rage," said a witness.

A man we'll call Rob tells WINK News he witnessed one serious case of road rage.

"She turned in to the parking lot and just floored it," said Rob.

Rob is talking about 45 year old Alana Grant.
Deputies say Grant was upset after being honked at by another driver, so she followed her in to this Publix parking lot.

"She hits the breaks, jumps out, runs out running and screaming threats and obscenities," said Rob.

The victim told deputies Grant was holding a wrench and said she was going to teach her not to honk at people.

"Takes the wrench in her right hand, acts like she is going to hit the car," said Rob.

Rob says the victim said something to grant making her even more angry.

"Something just set her off and she just lost it," said Rob.

Deputies say the victim threatened to call the cops--that's when the victim says Grant tried to open her door through the window, grabbed her arm, trying to pull her out.

"If she starts using the wrench I was going to run up there," said Rob.

"That could have gotten nasty at that point and time," said Rob.

Grant told detectives she carried the wrench for protection and thought the victim was armed.

"She finally ran, jumped in the car and sped off," said Rob.

Rob says the victim was extremely emotional and is glad Grant was found and arrested.

"You should not be allowed to act like that in public over someone tooting their horn at you, give me a break," said Rob.

Grant was arrested on charges of battery and burglary.
