LEE COUNTY, Fla.- There was a Hazmat scare at the Naples Community Services building after workers found white powder in a letter this afternoon. Emergency crew showed up and quickly determined the powder was not hazardous, but the scene was tense as they investigated.

The Naples Fire chief said an employee at Community Services was opening a letter and immediately noticed powder, that was later determined to be talcum powder. But officials were concerned because it was a threatening letter sent to the former director. The letter was hand written in Spanish.

About 8 employees were taken out of the building as a precaution.

The employee who opened the letter was checked for breathing problems and skin irritation.

Police are currently investigating.
