MARCO ISLAND, Fla --- An alleged peeping Tom, is putting some Marco Island condo owners, on edge.
Late Friday night, a woman living in the Somerset on South Collier Boulevard, called police, after allegedly spotting Quinn Karter peeping into condo windows.
The community is locked and gated.
"We were concerned. Just hired security at our front gate. We thought we were a little more secure," said Dolores Gruca, who lives inside the complex.
Gruca told WINK News those guards leaves after midnight. Karter allegedly snuck in before 11.
"It's gated from the beach side too, so I don't know," said Gruca.
A woman called 911, and her husband ran after Karter, a former West Palm Beach dcotor.
That's when the husband noticed a camera in Karter's hand.
The arrest report said he then "asked the subject if he was videotaping people in the homes and the subject began to curse at him and told him to mind his own business."
Police say they tried to arrest Karter, but he refused, and evenetually was tased after resisting arrest.
Police wanted to know how Karter got into the locked and gated community. He told them he crawled under the fence to get in, and hopped over to get out.
Karter allegedly admitted to staring into two people's windowns. He told police, "I asked Quinn why he was looking into other peoples windows and he advised he thought they wanted him to watch them."
"Nobody wants that. You feel Marco Island, you should be nice and safe and secure," said Gruca.
Karter is charged with trespassing.
