FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) is hosting the fifth annual BBQ, Bands and Brew to benefit its nonprofit charitable arm Builders Care on Sunday, April 6 from 11 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. The fundraiser is open to the public and will feature local music, several local barbecue restaurants, BBQ competition to name the Best BBQ in town and kids activities. Admission is $10 per person. Children ages 12 and under are free, and free parking is available.

Local bands include Alter Ego, Rocker, Grayson Rogers Band and Deb & the Dynamics. Barbecue-themed foods between $2 and $5 will be provided by Blue Crawfish Catering, Bubba’s Roadhouse & Saloon, Famous Dave’s, Jonesez BBQ, Reuben’s Smokehouse, MOFOS, Bonez Brothers BBQ, Woody’s Surfside Island Rum & Grille and desserts by Ben & Jerry’s. Kid’s Barnyard will feature a petting zoo, bounce house, arts and crafts and more.

Also part of the event is the second annual Poker Run that begins at Fort Myers Harley-Davidson and includes three stops throughout Lee County before ending at BBQ, Bands & Brew at the Alliance for the Arts. Registration is $25 and includes admission to the event. Best hand wins $500.

Builders Care is the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA). Its objective is to provide emergency repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means. To date, Lee BIA Builders Care has put more than $2.4 Million in construction services back into the community at no cost to homeowners in need. Builders Care enlists the volunteer services of Lee BIA members and leverages grants and donated materials to provide construction and remodeling services to qualified homeowners throughout Lee County.
