LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Two East Lee County High School students were arrested yesterday for allegedly stealing another student's wallet containing $220.

The 15 and 16-year-old suspects face robbery charges after the victim and witnesses said they cornered the victim and forcibly took his wallet.

The witnesses were able to identify the students involved. They were located and while speaking with deputies, one of the suspects spontaneously uttered that his cousin had the money, but that his cousin didn't know where the money came from.

Deputies recovered $210, but the wallet was never found.

The victim told deputies he showed a student his wallet, containing the cash, during his first period class, and that one of the suspects overheard the conversation. The was reportedly called into the restroom, where he was slammed against the door, as one of the suspects demanded the money. There was a struggle and the victim's back pocket was ripped. The other suspect allegedly held down the victim's hands and blocked the exit.

The two suspects were arrested and transported to the Lee County Juvenile Assessment Center.
