NAPLES, Fla.- Naples Police are investigating an incident in which shots were allegedly fired from a vehicle in the area of 5th Avenue North and 13th and 14th Streets.

Yesterday just before 8:30 p.m., officers arrived on the scene and found the no one had been injured. Several people on the street reported shots being fired from an automobile in the area. Several differing descriptions of the car were given, including a blue Nissan, gold GM model, or white SUV. No one in the area was willing to provide a statement or go on record as a witness.

A subject stated he/she was on the northwest corner of 13th Street North and 5th Avenue North, at a private residence within 1,000 ft. of were the cartridge cases were found, and observed a gold sedan with dark tinted windows driving westbound on 5th Avenue at a high rate of speed. He/she thought the shots were fired from this vehicle, but were unable to give any further descriptions.

Officers located seven RWS-brand .40 Smith & Wesson cartridge cases lying on 5th Avenue North. The cases were on 5th Avenue North, both north and south of 13th Street. Four had been run over and damaged. Three were collected for processing.
