NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- A thousand people in our community are extra grateful to have food on the table tonight, thanks to a traveling food bank.

Volunteers said they passed out nearly 50,000 pounds of food for free. The food comes courtesy of Farm Share, the largest fresh produce program in Florida.

Farm Share travels throughout the Sunshine State year round to distribute donated food, which some say, is badly needed.

Farm Share hasn't been in Lee County since last year, and while some came to collect food, others just stopped by to say, "Thank you."
