NAPLES, Fla. - A discount card that started as a benefit for one neighborhood has now expanded. The Resident Club Card is saving people money throughout the year in Southwest Florida. It offers a minimum discount of 10% to more than 350 businesses.

You name it's there said Amy Saad. "About a 1/3 of the list is restaurants, the rest are retail, home services, pet car, lawyers, doctors, accountants" said Saad.

Franks Automotive in Naples is one of them. "I think its been a way to connect with the residents that may be had fallen off to the waste side have come back" said Enza Panipinto.

The family owned business offers 10% off car maintenance and repairs. Panipinto said "with the economy taking a turn that it did a few years ago it was a great incentive to give them a discount, the residents a discount, and for us to generate business."

Saad said "I think the merchants mostly are getting a big response, that they've seen the card and that they've seen people go over and over again."

Saad came up with the idea to get her neighbors to participate in their homeowners association in 2010. Since then she says it's become a phenomenon. So Saad and her 2 business partners have expanded it throughout Collier and Lee counties.

"Just by demand we thought ok it's time to open it up. So now it's online and ready to purchase for anybody that wants to buy" said Saad.

You can purchase the Resident Club Card for $35-dollars at rcccard.com. It's good through the end of the year.
