LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Billy Elrod, the Lehigh Acres man accused of beating his disabled girlfriend to death, has plead no contest to Second Degree Murder.

The victim, 61-year-old Elizabeth Browder was transported to the hospital on April 2, 2013, where she made several statements to medical staff that her boyfriend/caregiver repeatedly struck her in the head. She died on April 24 of that year.

Elrod was sentenced to 364 days with credit for time served for 337 days.

He will have 120 months of state probation, and will have to serve 500 hours of community service.

Elrod is to have no contact with victim's family, and is to have a mental health evaluation.
