FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- This morning construction crews on Fort Myers Beach are expected to begin re-paving the sidewalks in Times Square. This comes after a broken water pipe flooded businesses in the area. A boil water notice remains in affect.

The water main break has been an inconvenience for tourists and businesses in the area. Spring break has been going on as usual, but the restaurants were on a boil water notice for 48 hours and now, the reconstruction is taking place.

Once the main area is fixed today, workers will get started on another area that was damaged tomorrow.

One of the servers at Plaka said the weather had been a bit cloudy, but she still places the blame for most of their slow business on this water main break.

"Normally, there's foot traffic coming constantly around. I mean, there are performers in the Square there, but yeah we're seeing half of it. Yesterday, we had these tables taken out here for part of the repairs," said Nicole Bennett, a server at Plaka

Some of these restaurants coughed up thousands of dollars because of this water main break and construction. They will have to deal with it for a few more days, until everything is fixed.
