CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral firefighters local 2424, announced on Tuesday that they have ratified a new contract with the City that will directly affect their pensions. The contract, the last of the City's 3 major unions to be ratified, is expected to save the City 65 million dollars over 25 years. City councilwoman Rana Erbrick says all tolled with the 3 contracts ratified and approved by council, the City could realize up to a 200 million dollar savings over the next quarter century.
