COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a man who attempted to lure 9-year-old and 10-year-old girls in North Naples on Sunday.

According to reports, the children were riding their bicycles on Johnnycake Drive shortly after 2:00 p.m. when a man driving a black SUV stopped next to them. The man held what appeared to be a $10 bill out the window and asked them to come over to him.

The children instead went to the girl’s house and told her father about the encounter. The father then contacted CCSO.

The suspect is described as white and in his 40s. The SUV is possibly a Jeep Cherokee.

• Never go with or accept rides from strangers.
• Do not play near vacant homes.
• If anyone should grab you, scream, jerk free and run away. Tell an adult immediately.
