STARKE, Fla. (AP) - A man who beat two women with a hammer and then set them on fire during a robbery is to be executed by lethal injection.

The execution of 55-yeare-old Robert L. Henry is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at Florida State Prison.

He was convicted of the 1987 slayings of 53-year-old Phyllis Harris and 35-year-old Janet Thermidor, his co-workers at a Deerfield Beach fabric store.

Henry at first told police the crime was committed by an unknown assailant. But Thermidor lived long enough to positively identify him as the attacker and he later confessed.

Prosecutors say Henry's total take for the crime was just over $1,200.
