BROWARD COUNTY, Fla.- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) collected the remains of a 4-year-old radiocollared male panther yesterday.

The remains were found in the Everglades and Francis Taylor Wildlife Management Area.

This is the 7th panther mortality and the 4th vehicle mortality for 2014.

The cause of death is unknown, and is pending the necropsy. The carcass is at the FWC Naples Field Office and will be sent to the FWC Gainesville lab for necropsy.
