DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) - The 73rd annual Bike Week ended with nice weather and fewer arrests than in previous years.
Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood told the Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://bit.ly/1iVHjWf ) that Bike Week wrapped up Sunday with only handful of arrests for drunk and disorderly conduct. Also over the course of the 10-day event, three motorcyclists died in crashes and about three motorcycles were reported stolen.
Cruisin' Cafe owner Daniel Myara says bad weather around the country gave many people a reason to come to Daytona Beach this year. He says the week started slow but ended well.
And the weather was beautiful.
Bike Week also featured motorcycle demo rides at Daytona International Speedway, the Daytona 200 motorcycle races and the DeLand Bike Rally.
