TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla.- A 25-year-old Naples man has been arrested on attempted murder charges near Tampa.

Police there said Brandon Walker broke into a  pharmacy in Temple Terrace, just before 8 o'clock Saturday night.

A Tampa pharmacist is fighting for his life. Police said a Naples painter beat him brutally while trying to get his hands on medicine behind the counter.
"It's a vicious, senseless crime by someone who was apparently desperate for drugs," said Michael Dunn with the Temple Terrace Police.
Detectives said 25 year old Brandon Walker was so desperate, he broke in through another store in this strip mall and then climbed through air conditining ducts to get inside the pharmacy. He surprised the victim, 59 year old Akinbo Babatunde, demanding drugs, then beating him with the store's hole punch machine.

"Apparently he was beaten with the guys fist's, shoved around, maybe banged against you know the wall or the floor."

Walker escaped with only a small amount of drugs. Babatunde was taken to Tampa General Hospital where he's in critical condition.

"He is in bad shape."

Just two days after robbing the pharamcy, police said Walker was involved in a hit and run car accident. WINK News did some digging and found this isn't Walker's first arrest. Our team came across this Collier County mug shot from last March. In Collier he's been charged with aggravated battery, theft, and domestic violence.
